Belgrade weather is generally moderate and is considered as having a continental climate. The annual average temperature is 12 C.
Winters are usually cold and snowy and occasionally the temperature drops below 0. The lowest average temperature is in January, with -3 C. Average days of frost are 70 per year, 22 of which occur in January. Springs are normally short and rainy, whereas autumns are longer, with warm and sunny weather. However, during autumn, when the southeasterly wind, kosava, blows, Belgrade weather can be very dry and windy. Summers are fairly warm but moderate, with no extreme weather conditions. The highest average temperature is 28 C in July and August.
Belgrade receives approximately 700 mm of rain over 137 days in a year, with the wettest months being May and June, and the driest month being February. Some of the amount of precipitation mentioned above comes in snow during winter. The average number of days of snow is 27, and additionally it remains on the ground from 30 to 44 days. Snow’s average thickness is 14 to 25 cm.
The average humidity is 68% in a year and the average monthly humidity ranges from 60% in July to 80% in December. Belgrade enjoys approximately 2112 hours of sunshine per annum, and the average sunlight hours range between 2.2 hours per day in December and 9.5 in July.
